Strawberry Drip Cake | Rye Tavern Plymouth, MA

Intimate Rye Tavern Wedding

A Farm To Table Experience

With deep mauve and blush tones highlighted with rose gold and copper, this elegant South Shore wedding gives all the romantic farmhouse feels.

Loose, organic abundant floral arrangements were the highlight of this 1700’s farmhouse. Wooden beans and wide pine floors are complemented by modern florals by The Wild Dahlia— and honestly- they look like they were just plucked from the gardens surrounding the tavern.

I love a muted, moody, color palettes for classic New England winter weddings— dusty rose and mauves along with soft white tones and deep aubergine purples and lavender and lilac tones are absolutely beautiful for any season— Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, nevermind a cozy Intimate Microwedding on a snowy day!

Now on to the cake!

Dripping chocolate, flowers and chocolate covered strawberries make this cake the centerpiece!

Creating this Fresh Strawberry Naked Layer Cake in our bakery was honestly a highlight of my week! It is simply perfection.

It starts with 4 tasty vanilla layers soaked in rosewater syrup — to keep the layers extra moist— then filled with a strawberry buttercream — that tastes like strawberry ice cream!

Naked Cake Layers include a thin layer of vanilla buttercream on the outside of the cake. It allows the baked cake to remain exposed. We added a hint of strawberry buttercream peaking through the cake layers for a touch of blush pink!

A dark chocolate drip flows over the side of the cake in melty perfection!

Shawna from The Wild Dahlia adorned the top of the cake with a delightful, soft, arrangement of moody toned roses and berries. We added a few dark chocolate covered strawberries to bring in the warm red tones of the Rye Tavern and also to accentuate the strawberry filling inside the cake layers.
