Give your guests a treat to cap off your wedding day! A dessert table brimming with classic New England desserts does just that! K and T said not a morsel was left at the end of the night!
Kelly and Tom’s wedding day was set on the picturesque island of Cuttyhunk off the coast of New Bedford and Cape Cod.
With a handful of private homes and only two wedding venues Avalon and Cuttyhunk Fishing Club it’s safe to say that you will have the island as your private wedding day paradise.

Local, farm-fresh desserts
K and T envisioned a dessert table that brought together classic New England treats. With the farm-fresh fruit and produce in full swing, that was an easy task.
Strawberry Rhubarb pie was the first dessert to make the list. Our pie crust is made from scratch and is so flaky and buttery! We filled this double-crust pie with local rhubarb from Curley’s in Acushnet and fresh strawberries from Cervelli Farms. A heart tops the pie— a reminder that love is sweet!
Strawberry Shortcake Wedding Desserts
Strawberry shortcake was the next dessert on the list. Making individual strawberry shortcakes in tiny shot glasses is the best way to present this tasty treat and also makes it so portable for those who want to dance the night away!
Lemon and Raspberry Cupcakes
Lemon raspberry cupcakes were next, these were frosted in cream cheese buttercream and are so dreamy! Not-too-sweet and so well balanced. They are a great treat after a clambake that included lobster lollipops.
Classic Two Layer Wedding Cake
Delicious and creamy buttercream frosting covered the two tiered cake. The bottom tier includes a lovely trowel texture and the top tier is offers a smooth appearance. Sugar flowers and succulents added texture to the design.
The inside of the cake is champagne cake with strawberries!
Why Kelly and Tom Chose Cuttyhunk…
From Kelly: My paternal great-grandfather fell in love with Cuttyhunk after visiting on a fishing trip and ended up building a summer home on the island where all of my family has spent many wonderful summers. Almost every summer since I was born, I spent a few weeks on Cuttyhunk... fishing, reading, playing scrabble, going on treasure hunts and eating lobster. It is one of my favorite places in the world and always has and always will hold a special place in my heart. From his first visit, Tom too relished visiting the magical little island. It is serene, quiet and the epitome of laid-back and it’s the relaxing, low-key nature of the island that is absolutely contagious and what we really love. We knew it was the perfect place to have our wedding.
